Whirlwind

What an April so far!  It felt like a whirlwind of events and as much as you try to prepare for those busy weeks, it always seems crazy when you are right in the middle of it!  Easter weekend Blake and I headed up to The Woodlands for some much needed pool and homemade pina colada time with the parents.  We knew we were about to head into a long week so we tried to spend the holiday weekend enjoying time by the pool :)  One of my favorite things to do on a sunny Saturday is to layout by the pool and enjoy a cocktail (or 2) (And if Mel is reading this then I know she agrees with me).  And thanks to my momma for her superb pina colada making skills!  Later that evening we headed to market street for a chill burger dinner...veggie burger in my case ;)  On Sunday Blake and I woke up early to spend Easter with his mom.  We went to church in Cypress and then drove out to City Centre for an AHHmazing brunch at Bistro Alex!  Still salivating over that 3 course brunch.  To top the day off we enjoyed some cappuccino's at Flora&Muse (Side note: Blake and I really enjoy this coffee spot....it's just a coffee and flower shop, a girl's dream, or maybe just mine, ha)

Ok, so with Easter weekend complete it was time for our whirlwind week to commence.  On Tuesday night we were lucky enough to attend the Astro's 50th Anniversary game with my parents.  This was an INCREDIBLE experience!  We were wined and dined in the Diamond Club and then seated at our 3rd row seats located directly behind home plate (the owner of the Astros was sitting in the seat in front of me).  And I mean DIRECTLY!  After receiving texts from friends and family we found out that we were on TV a whole freakin lot.  I mean geeze, a girl needs to prepare for so much TV time, ha.  Needless to say that the next time I attend the game in this manner I will be prepared with a pretty wardrobe and my hair will NOT be in a curly mess!

Wednesday night Blake and I met in Cypress to support his mom in her cause to raise money for cancer research!  Tory has been involved with Relay for Life for a few years and she has done incredible things in that short amount of time.  Each year she works with a local restaurant, 'Blue Water Seafood' to raise money.  10% of the night's sales went to the American Cancer Society.  The food was so yummy!!  I highly recommend Blue Water if you are looking for GREAT seafood!!  (Crab, Crawfish, Oysters, Shrimp galore!)  Friday night we attended the Relay for Life event at a local Cypress High School.  It was so neat to see so many people come together for such an important cause.  With all efforts combined the event raised several hundred thousand dollars (I do not know an exact amount) and the proceeds directly benefit our Houston hospitals!  For me it was simply a very special night to remember my sweet boyfriend's father.  I enjoyed every second of being there with him!

So finally, that leads us to this past Saturday.  Let's just say that I might have consumed a few Starbucks lattes after our late Friday night event (supposed to be an all night event but ahem 3am is as long as we lasted!)  Mid morning we headed from Cypress back over to The Wooodlands to get ready for my long time child hood friend's wedding.  The wedding was absolutely gorgeous and amazing down to the every detail.  It was held at the Carlton Woods country club, an intimate affair.  I am always won over when presented with champagne upon my arrival ;)  And in this case it was PINK!  Yep, perfection.  The ceremony was short and sweet and then we noshed on lobster and oysters and mac and cheese.  Then we danced the night away!

Whew....just writing about our past week or so makes me tired, ha.  We are looking forward to a semi relaxing weekend ahead and spending time with friends!

(Sorry for the poor picture quality and lack of pictures!  I need to start bringing my camera with me again.)
